Questions

How does the booklet order work?

The pages are rearranged so that when you print double-sided, fold the stack in half and staple, the pages read in order. The first sheet carries the last and first pages on its front, and the second and second-last on its back, and so on inward.

My PDF does not have a multiple of 4 pages.

PDFboat adds blank pages at the end to reach a multiple of 4, and tells you how many it added.

Which way should I flip the paper when printing?

Choose double-sided and "flip on short edge". On a printer that asks about "binding", short edge is the right choice for a landscape booklet sheet.

What is the right binding for Arabic, Hebrew or Japanese?

Choose "Right side" under Binding. The page order is mirrored for books that read from right to left.

Is the quality kept?

Yes. Pages are placed on the new sheets as they are, not turned into pictures, so text stays sharp and selectable. They are scaled down to fit.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser tab.

Can I password-protect the result?

Yes. Switch on "Password-protect" under Advanced options and the result is encrypted with AES-256. It is off by default.
