Questions
My PDF has no fields. What now?
Many forms are only pictures of a form, with no fields you can click. Use the Edit PDF tool for those: choose "Add text" and click where each answer should go. It is just as private.
What does "Make it permanent" do?
It turns your answers into part of the page, so they cannot be changed and show the same in every reader and when printed. Leave it off if you want to keep editing the form later.
Which kinds of fields work?
Text boxes (one line or several), tick boxes, option buttons (radio buttons) and drop-down or list choices. Signature fields cannot be filled here; add your signature with the Sign PDF tool afterwards.
Can I type in other languages?
Letters used in Western European languages work in the fields themselves. For other scripts, like Hindi or Chinese, your text is added as a picture so it still shows correctly, and it can no longer be edited as a form field.
Are my answers uploaded?
No. The form is opened and filled inside your browser tab.
Will it work on every form?
It works on standard fillable PDF forms. Some government forms use a special dynamic type (called XFA) that only Adobe's own reader can fill; PDFboat tells you when it sees one.
Can I password-protect the filled form?
Yes. Switch on "Password-protect" and the result is encrypted with AES-256. It is off by default.
