Questions

Can this break a password I do not know?

No. You must know the password to open the file. PDFboat only saves a copy without it, so you do not have to type it every time.

What about a PDF that opens fine but cannot be printed or copied?

Those files have a "permissions" password. They open without typing anything, and the copy PDFboat saves has those limits removed. Only do this for files you have the right to use.

Is my password uploaded?

No. The file is opened inside your browser tab and the password never leaves it.

Which protections are supported?

Password-protected PDFs using standard RC4 or AES (128 or 256 bit) encryption. Files locked with certificates are not supported.

Will the content change?

No. The pages, text, images and links are kept as they are.
